DIMERCO was established in Taipei since 1971. Near 50 years, professional enhancement for the staff has been its core value. Its business now is spread all over the world with offices located in over 17 countries. Staff can often visit offices in different places for learning and knowledge exchanging. Eddie Law who is the general manager of DIMERCO in Hong Kong region today has been trained at the Taipei head office for about two years in 1990’s. During that time, he was just a management trainee. |
| “Mainland economy has just started in the 90’s so re-export cargo freight service in Hong Kong was much relied. However, mainland economy and information technology have developed rapidly nowadays. Therefore, mainland cargos can be delivered directly to all over the world, and without being re-exported through Hong Kong,” Shared by Mr. Law who is the expert in this industry and has witnessed the changes in Hong Kong for the past 20 years. “Nevertheless, with the completion of HongKong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the transportation time will be shortened and the freight volume in Hong Kong will be boosted.”
Thanks to joining the related training, DIMERCO then has known SCSA. Therefore, we should really organise more events and do more on the freight safety and security promotion from now on. 1971 年在台北起家的DIMERCO《中菲行空運有限公司》，近50 年來一直以員工專業的提昇為公司運作的核心價值。現在業務遍佈全球，超過十七個國家有辦事處。員工有時候還可以到其他地方的公司辦事處學習和交流。而今天DIMERCO 的香港區總經理──羅偉山先生就曾在台北的公司總部學習了兩年。那時候是1992 年，他還是個見習生。
「九十年代大陸經濟剛剛起步，所以非常依重香港的轉口貨運服務。但是，現在大陸經濟蓬勃發展，科技日新月異，已經不再依賴香港，很多大陸的貨櫃已經可以直接運送到全球各地，再不需要靠香港轉運到其他地方。」在業界擁有多年經驗的羅先生見證着香港二十年來的變遷分享道：「不過，隨著港珠澳大橋落成，縮短了貨運的時間，將會帶動香港的貨運量。」
問到DIMERCO 怎樣認識SCSA，原來紅線就是SCSA 相關的培訓：他們的員工就是參與了培訓，與SCSA 相遇。看來我們SCSA 真的要多做培訓，多些推廣貨運安全及保安的專業知識了。DIMERCO 重視員工專業的提昇，能培養出像羅經理的業界資深人才，貢獻香港的貨運發展，實在是業界值得學習的模範。
